Research
Our objective is to design the experience of fitness and healthy living so that it is personalized, positive, and revolutionary for everyone even people with disabilities. Thus, we are strive to design for one to expand to many. Since there are numbers of fitness/ smart watches for health purposes on the market already, research process stimulates us to design what makes IASO different from the all the existing fitness/ smart watches on the market.

Wearable Wristbands With Pairable Apps
Research
Currently, there are a wide variety of wearable wristbands available in the market, such as, Under Armour, Fitbit, Speedo, Garmin, Apple, and more. Despite the wide variety of wearable wristbands and fitness apps available in the current market, majority of the wristbands collect the same type of data and are inherently ableist by not including features or data for potential users with physical disabilities.
These devices collect the following health metrics
-
Calorie burn calculator
-
Sleep monitor
-
Heart rate monitor
-
Track body fat, weight, and progress over time
-
Activity alerts

Understanding the User
To further expand the product design of IASO, we did a user interview that allowed us to design the experience of fitness and healthy living for everyone, including people with disabilities. Thus, we did 3 personas with different health conditions that helps us to identify the user's needs, pain points and goals.
Recognize the problem area
Understand user's needs, pains point and goals

Concept Phase
Originally, we wanted to create an app that is connected to medical nano bot to mentor user's health as a speculative design for our group project. After project critique, we decided to design beyond Internet of Things thus we got rid of IASO app and focus on the product experience.
Visual Design
My role as an interaction/ visual designer, I have chose to create a sleek futuristic hologram that contains users health condition and activity alert/ pop up notification to remind users to take some rest and get hydrated when is needed.
